Majnun & Leyla

Majnun & Leyla is an intercultural opera project by World Opera Lab in collaboration with the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra. Leyla and Majnun' is a tragic love story, loved from New Delhi to Rabat. In the story, the main character goes crazy from the loss of his loved one. Artists have been inspired by this beautiful story for centuries, and many local versions exist. World Opera Lab creates a new interpretation of the story with artists and musicians from very diverse traditions, from Turkish traditional music, European baroque opera to mystical Arabo-Andalusian songs.​
